Joe DiBernardo

Founding Principal

With a father who helped pioneer the profession of lighting design, Joe DiBernardo had an early introduction to the lighting industry.

At age 16, he began his career as a union factory worker at Linear Lighting in Long Island City, Queens, gaining hands-on experience in the manufacturing of lighting fixtures. DiBernardo soon became a manufacturer’s rep working with New York City’s top-tier lighting designers.

In 1992, he became VP of the Lighting Group / Lightolier, New York’s leading specification sales agency. In 2001, DiBernardo pivoted to manufacturing, joining Mark Lighting to create a premier linear architectural lighting company. He was instrumental in product development, sales and operations, an effort that culminated in the company’s sale to Acuity Brands Lighting in 2007.

Says DiBernardo, “My career has been spent exclusively in the specification lighting sector. As a result, I am focused on the process and execution of commercial lighting sales with specific attention to quality, service and on-time delivery. My business philosophy is creating value for the design community through excellent performance at all times.”

Cosine Lighting, LLC warrants that its LED Products (excluding drivers or other integral control system devices) are free of defects in workmanship and materials for a period of FIVE YEARS from the date of shipment. Cosine Lighting does not make any warranties whatsoever as to drivers or other integral control system devices and will accept no responsibility or liability whatsoever.

Improper or unauthorized use, installation, handling, storage, alteration, maintenance or service, including failure to abide by any product classifications, certifications or specifications, or failure to comply with any applicable standards, codes, recommendations, product specification sheets, or instructions of Cosine Lighting, use of the Product(s) with products, processes or materials supplied by any end user or third party; or any other occurrences beyond Cosine Lighting’s reasonable control shall void this warranty. Cosine Lighting also will not be responsible under this Warranty for any substantial deterioration in the Product finish that is caused by failure to clean, inspect or maintain the finish of the Product(s). Adequate records of operating history, maintenance, and/or testing must be kept by the end user and provided to Cosine Lighting upon request to substantiate that the Product(s) have failed to comply with the terms of this Limited Warranty. Neither polycarbonate nor acrylic material used in the Products is warranted against yellowing, as yellowing may naturally occur over time due to normal aging. The Product(s) are not warranted against costs that may be incurred in connection with changes or modifications to the Product(s) required to accommodate site conditions and/or faulty building construction or design. This Warranty is not applicable to any Products which are not installed and operated in accordance with the current edition of the National Electric Code (NEC), the Standards for Safety of Underwriters Laboratory, Inc. (UL) or Intertek (ETL), or the standards for the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and with Cosine Lighting’s instructions and guidelines for the Product. Warranty claims regarding the Product(s) must be submitted in writing within thirty (30) days of discovery of the defect or failure to an authorized Cosine Lighting customer service representative. Product(s) or component part(s) may be required to be returned for inspection and verification of non-conformance by Cosine Lighting.
